Can I fit luxury vinyl flooring myself?
Luxury vinyl flooring is ideal if you’re looking for easy-to-install flooring for a DIY project.
It’s incredibly easy to cut, requires no bonding to the subfloor beneath, and snaps together at the ends and edges for a smooth, seamless finish.
However, if you aren’t confident installing your new flooring and are worried about making a mess of it, our in-house installation team would be more than happy to take over.
With years of experience in installing all different types of flooring, including luxury vinyl, you can trust that we’ll do an excellent job of fitting your new flooring.

Where can I install luxury vinyl flooring?
Because LVT is versatile and made from such robust materials, it’s the perfect option for all areas of the home.
Whereas regular vinyl flooring isn’t always the best option for moisture-rich areas, like your kitchen or bathroom for example, luxury vinyl will hold up against all sorts of spillages.
Not only is the top layer waterproof, but the backing layer protects the underside of your floors from moisture too, so you don’t have to worry about any water damage, or your flooring swelling, bending or warping due to high humidity either.
Do I need an underlay for luxury vinyl flooring?
Just like regular vinyl, luxury vinyl flooring has built-in layers of cushioning, which means that you don’t need to install an underlay.
In some circumstances – like if you have a rough, uneven subfloor, for example – you may need to install an underlay with regular vinyl for a smooth, even finish. But with luxury vinyl, this shouldn’t be a problem.
LVT features an entirely different construction where multiple thick layers are bonded together, which serves the purpose of an underlay and removes the need for an additional base layer.
This doesn’t mean you can’t use an underlay, though, and if you want to boost noise reduction, thermal insulation or simply increase the height of your floors, underlay would be a great option to help you do this.
